July 24: The Round 15 clash versus Wesley Curtin Tigers resulted in another loss for the Saints. The Saints kept in touch with the Tigers, trailing by only 15 points at half time and 25 points at half time. The lead was extended to 35 points at three-quarter time and blew out to 59 points at full time. The Saints now face a must win clash versus Wembley next week to avoid the wooden spoon. Congratulations to Adam Edwards and Adam Manera for playing their 50th games for the Club.
July 17: The Saints slumped to their worst loss in two years, with a demoralising 101 point loss to CBC. The loss now guarantees that the Saints will be relegated to B-Grade for the first time since 2006. Congratulations to Ben Owen who played his 100th game for the Club.
July 10: The Saints' disappointing season continued with another heavy loss to North Fremantle. The Saints were missing a number of key players with injuries and suspensions, and went into the game with their youngest side of the year, including eight players under 21 years of age. The young Saints side made a good account of themselves up to three quarter time, and trailed by only 14 points. However, a 6-goal final quarter by the Magpies ensured another disappointing loss. Congratulations to Jonathon Nowers who played his 50th game for the Club in the Reserves game.
July 3: The Saints were taught a football lesson in Round 12, going down by 81 points to reigning premiers, North Beach. The Tigers made use of the breeze in the first quarter and stretched their lead at every break. In an often spiteful encounter, the Saints showed a lack of discipline, and had three players sent from the field during the game. The Saints loss to North Beach, and North Fremantle's win over Mt Lawley, means the Club is almost guaranteed of being relegated to B-Grade in 2011. Congratulations to Ben Ammon who played his 150th WAAFL game in the G-Grade clash versus North Beach. Ben has played 74 games for the Saints and 76 games for Ocean Ridge.
June 26: The Saints slumped to their worst loss of the season, going down 93 points to University. The loss is their lowest ever score against University and their equal lowest score at Richard Guelfi Reserve.
June 19: The Saints have put together back-to-back wins with a strong 23-point victory over 5th-placed Whitford. The Saints led from start to finish, and the win now lifts them from the bottom of the ladder. A special congratulations must go Michael Franceschini who played his 150th game for the Club. Congratulations also to Michael Strong for his 50th game for the Club.
June 5: The Saints have finally broken through for their first win of the season in their Round 9 clash versus Trinity-Aquinas. The Saints led at every change, and while the Boomers levelled the scores half way through the last quarter, managed to hold on in a nail-biting finish to win by 7 points. The Saints now enter the mid-season break with some confidence.
May 29: The Saints' season hit rock bottom with a demoralising 53-point loss versus 9th-placed Wembley. The Saints will now have to win the majority of the remaining 10 games if they are to have any chance of avoiding relegation to B-Grade. The Club's Colts Team were the only winners for the day, with a massive 75-point win, including a very accurate score of 19 goals 2 behinds. In other news, Mark Kelly's remarkable run of 104 consecutive games finally came to an end on the weekend. Mark had played every game since his debut in Colts in Round 1, 2005. The run beat the previous record of 100 consecutive games, set by Paul Giamov in 2009.
May 22: The Saints chances of remaining in A-Grade were dealt another blow, with a 25-point loss to Wesley Curtin. The Tigers lead from start to finish, and despite reducing the margin to two goals in the last quarter, the Saints couldn't register their first win for the season. The Club's Thirds Team cemented their place in the Top 3 of G-Grade with their sixth consecutive win over fourth placed Melville by 44 points. The win now puts them two games clear of Melville and in a strong position to play finals for the first time since 2004. Congratulations to Clinton Strauch for playing his 50th game for the Club.
May 15: The Saints remain anchored to the bottom of the A-Grade table with a disappointing 29-point loss to Fremantle CBC. CBC's win, combined with Trinity-Aquinas's win over Wembley, means that Stirling (and Wembley) are now 3 games clear at the bottom of the ladder and in real danger of remaining in the relegation zone by the end of the season. Next week's match versus Wesley-Curtin now becomes a must-win for the Club to stay in touch. The Club's Thirds side continued on their recent form, defeating Bassendean Swans by 27 points for the fifth consecutive victory in G-Grade.
May 8: The Saints suffered another loss - their fifth of the season - to North Fremantle at Gil Fraser. The Saints kicked the first three goals of the game and looked to be in some form before the Magpies pegged the margin back to 4 points by the first break. North Freo took control in the second quarter, kicking 6 unanswered goals. The Saints provided some resistance in the third quarter and actually outscored their opponents, but the Magpies had full control of the last quarter, running out convincing 72 point winners. The Club's Thirds side won their fourth consecutive G-Grade clash, this time at the hands of Ocean Ridge Eagles. In a tough encounter, the Saints won by 11 points and now share equal second spot on the Ladder. Congratulations to Paul Anastasiu for playing his 50th game for the Club.
May 1: The Saints have suffered their fourth loss of the season, this time going down to reigning premiers, North Beach. After an even first quarter, the Tigers pulled away to a 4-goal lead at half time. The lead quickly extended after the main break and by the final siren, the margin was 50 points. Despite the loss, the Club would like to congratulate Joel Edwards for his 150th WAAFL game and Chris Ioppolo for his 50th game for the Club. Once again, the shining light for the day was the Thirds, who managed to defeat North Beach by 82 points to record their third consecutive win. The Thirds have not been able to win three consecutive games since Round 15, 2004
April 24: A slow start to the game was the difference between the Saints and their Round 3 opponents, University. With three Fairest & Best winners (Joel Edwards, Adam Edwards and Frank Rossi) and a couple of other key players out of the side, University jumped out of the blocks and held a commanding 39-point lead at the first change. The young Saints side fought back well, and actually outscored their opponents after quarter time. But their efforts were not enough to prevent a 23 point loss. Despite the loss, the Club congratulates Mark Kelly, who played his 100th game for the Club. It should be noted that all 100 games have been played consecutively over the last 5 years. Once again, the only shining light for the day was the Thirds, who defeated Dianella-Morley in their G-Grade clash by 38 points to record their second consecutive win.
April 17: The slow start to the season continued with a disappointing display against Whitford. The Warriors got out to a quick lead and increased their 28-point quarter time lead to 52 points at half time. A mini-comeback by the Saints late in the third term reduced the margin to 32 points at the last break. But the revival was short lived, as the Warriors added eight unanswered goals in the last quarter to run out convincing winners by 85 points. One of the Saints' better players was Tristan Pack, who was playing his 100th WAAFL game (including games at Scarborough and North Beach). The only win for the day was the Club's Thirds side, who won their G-Grade clash versus High Wycombe by 57 points.
April 10: The 2010 season has not started as hoped, with a 3-goal loss to newcomers, Mt Lawley. The Saints trailed at the main break, but a 5-goal third quarter put them into a good position going into the last quarter. The Hawks kicked 3 goals in 3 minutes midway through the last quarter and the deficit was too great by the final siren. The loss was a disappointing result for Ben Mollett's 150th WAAFL game. The only shining light was the win by the Colts, who defeated their counterparts by 16 points.
April 8: The Club is pleased to announce that Kevin Liddelow has been awarded Life Membership to the Club. Kevin has played over 100 games for the Club, and has served in the capacity of coach, assistant coach (and caretaker coach) of the League, Reserves and Colts at some stage, in addition to many off-field duties. Life Membership for Kevin is a very well deserved honour.
April 7: The WAAFL has revised the fixtures for G-Grade to include Scarborough Eagles as the tenth team. This means that there is no bye for the Club's Thirds team, as previously proposed. Click here to see the full set of fixtures.
March 27: The Club's third and final pre-season scratch match will be played on 27 March 2010 versus Carey Park Panthers at Kelly Park in Bunbury, with only the League side playing.
March 20: The Club's second pre-season scratch match will be played on 20 March 2010 versus Swan Athletic Swans at Richard Guelfi Reserve, with Colts (10:45am), Reserves (12:35pm) and League (2:30pm) all playing.
March 17: The fixtures for the club's Thirds team have now been released. The Thirds will be playing in G-Grade in 2010 and will start the season with an away game versus Kalamunda Cougars. Click here to see the full set of fixtures.
March 13: The Club's first pre-season scratch match will be played on 13 March 2010 versus Wanneroo Roos at Richard Guelfi Reserve, with Colts (10:45am), Reserves (12:35pm) and League (2:30pm) all playing.
March 3: The fixtures for the A-Grade of the 2010 WAAFL season have been released. Round 1 will begin with a home game against newcomers Mt Lawley Hawks. Click here to see the full set of fixtures. The fixtures for the Club's Thirds team are expected to be released shortly.
January 19: Pre-Season Training for the League, Reserves and Thirds will commence on Tuesday 19 January 2010. Training will be held every Tuesday and Thursday, starting at 5:45pm.
